Please note that the date for this gala has been changed to SATURDAY 9th NOVEMBER 2013. It will still take place at Cascades with the exact time yet to be confirmed.
Welcome back to all swimmers, to those returning for another season and to a number of new members. The usual sessions are up and running but swimmers are advised to check the club noticeboard in the foyer at Cascades for confirmation. We have also made some adjustments to our current squads with a number of swimmers moving up into a new group – this is based on ability and is not related to age! Our first competitive gala will be at home against Limavady on Saturday 26th October – time to be confirmed. Hopefully, we can turn around last season’s result and begin the season with a win.
Thanks to all who turned out to compete, supervise, organise and support our club gala on Saturday afternoon at Cascades. It was great to see so many of our swimmers in the same place at the same time, from the youngest large pool swimmer, Jessica Vennard aged just 7 right up to the birthday boy, Chris Grimley – ageless! May we also express our thanks to the staff at Cascades who have helped us throughout the season at all of our home fixtures and training sessions. Congratulations to all who won trophies whether it was for performances throughout the season, ‘on the day’ stroke winners, or those who received endeavour awards for their committment and improvement. The next important date will be Wednesday 19th June when our AGM will be held.
Please note that all swimmers are asked to be at Cascades at 4.oopm on Saturday 15th June. Warm-up will be at 4.10 and we hope to begin at 4.30pm. As usual, girls are asked to supply sandwiches and boys traybakes/goodies for light refreshments after the event. We will require several ‘volunteers’ to help with timekeeping duties – the more the merrier! This gala will bring us to the end of the 2012-2013 season, we hope all our swimmers and their families will have a safe, fun and relaxing summer break. Our best wishes also go to those swimmers who have completed GCSE, AS, or A Level exams. Club swimming will resume on Wednesday 4th September at the usual times.
Congratulations to all members of the squad who came away with bronze medals from the Division 2 Swim Off Gala held in Larne. This reaffirms our position in the division for next season. Well done to Coleraine ASC who deservedly earned promotion to Division 1, we wish them all the best on their return to the top level. A big thanks to everyone who competed this year and to all who provided poolside help and support.
The Small Pool Gala will take place on Wednesday 12th June in two sessions:

The large pool gala will take place on Saturday 15th June. Individual Medley events will take place on Wednesday 12th June at 7.30 pm for all large pool swimmers of 10 years and above. ie 2003 birthdate or earlier.
