Squad Changes/Session News

Several changes have already been made and we expect more to follow. Congratulations to all who have ‘moved up’. In some cases this will mean attenting a different time slot so all swimmers are asked to check new squad sessions.  Swimmers who normally swam on a Saturday morning will now swim at 6pm on Wednesday. All swimmers are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible and it is not possible to ‘mix and match’ squads. Occasionally we will have to make changes to normal sessions so it is important to pick up a club notice sheet from the desk on Wednesday night. Thursday sessions in the large pool are reserved for ‘team training’, this will focus on PTL swimmers in the months up to Christmas. Our first competitive gala is against Ballymoney on Saturday 22nd September, this is an away fixture and further details will be given at a later date. As a result of this gala there will be NO SWIMMING  (big pool) on that date. Let’s try to get the new season off to a winning start!

Back with a splash!

Wednesday 5th September opened our swim sessions for the new season and it was great to see the pool so busy. Bill, Conor and the rest of the coaches have been busy looking at our current squad structure and as a result many swimmers have moved up. It will take a week or two before all the changes are confirmed so it is important for those who have moved to note when and at what time they now swim. Several coaches have also moved to different squads where they will  be looking to promote those who show improvement. Our first PTL gala is only a few weeks away and all places on the team will be up for grabs. We would like to welcome new starts and returning swimmers to the team. It is important that swimmers attend as many sessions as posible in order to build up stamina and general fitness after the summer break. Best of luck to everyone and let’s look forward to a successful year for PTL and AquaSprint teams.
